ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Photography by Div + Owen

In a 2022 personality test, I was defined as a helper, problem solver and peacekeeper.  My practice is grounded in these labels and rooted in my identity as a scrappy code-switching multiracial Black artist and creative practitioner. I bring this identity into Goblin party, with a deep understanding of the cultural economy and a commitment to aligning with artists' needs and values.

I received my  BFA from the Rhode Island School of the Arts (2011) and hold a certificate in papermaking from Awagami Factory, Shikoku island, Japan (2010).

I am the recipient of first prize in the 1st Annual Juried Exhibition from Hudson Valley MOCA, NY (2019) juried by Legacy Russell, and a winner in illustration for Applied Arts Magazine (2009). I’ve worked with established and emerging artists such as Laylah Ali, the Dedalus Foundation, Jordan Casteel, Oliver Jeffers, Christopher Myers, Nifemi Ogunro, Emma Safir, and Hank Willis Thomas. I am working this next year to grow my practice in its professional development as a NEW INC. community member  (Y11) while increasing my offerings and visibility to the broader community.
